Illustrations

'Maidstone'
Illustrations by Siobhain Hill
from The Land of Lost Thoughts.

There are 12 illustrations throughout the book, one for each of Emily's life. 12 is considered an important age by many cultures and religions and so I decided to make 12 a special number for Emily as the story follows her through one year of her life, age 11 - 12 yrs. The subjects are images from the story which are everyday objects present in her life, a simple pencil case, a No. 3 bus and the one opposite, titled; 'Maidstone'.

The illustrations are available as Limited Edition Prints. 100 prints only, signed and numbered by the artist. Alternatively you can also buy these as posters in various sizes. See the online shop for more info and to buy!

ART
Part of her ‘Deity’ series looking at icon, renaissance, byzantine and eastern religious art.

After a long time away from art having a family and writing, Siobhain Hill  rediscovoured techniques from her youth and explored with the concept of gold leaf being solid and used in icon art through the centuries. ‘Buddha Awakening’ is the concept of a solid statue merging into life through the sounds it hears, thus making it one with the natural world from which it was once crafted, from gold, clay etc
The symbols are of lotus flowers, birds and creatures which are representative of nature sounds drifting towards the statue. A sign of contemplation about our presence and rebirth through accepting our world.
Siobhain Hill explores light and its changing affect upon colour and vision. The hidden colours, tones and symbols become apparent as different light sources emerge - be it sunlight or artificial, you need to move around to see more depth appear in front of you.

Purchasing a Giclée Art Print is the closest thing you can get to owning the original. The Arts Guild approved papers and inks ensure quality and longevity of that quality, so you can be sure your art is an investment and will not be subject to mold, discolouration or fading.

Siobhain Hill's Limited Editions have extra gold paint over-applied and gold leaf to enhance and create a truly unique Art print. They are numbered and run in a limited series of only 100 prints. Of course they are also signed by the artist.
