Artwork available from facebook Marketplace!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for looking again at my artwork. The Limited editions are now available via Facebook Marketplace but it is simpler to buy directly from here my own website. Dont forget the Giclée's are all output on to the finest Artists papers, my Buddha print is actually on an environmental Bamboo a new paper with fantastic colour holding guaranteed for 60 years to retain its color and not fade. the texture is very slight but really adds to the overall look and feel of these prints. The Artists Guild recommends this paper by Hahnemüele and I can see why. I will number and sign everyone, I still have 95 prints of each of the images 'Buddha Awakening and also 'Family' the purple flower image.
the imagery is of a closed faded almost finished flower with the symbols falling like seeds. the symbols represent my own family in terms of their construction, 3 petals for three children, 5 strokes for five members of the family etc etc. the use of symbols in eastern art really interests me and the use of lotus flower has presided strongly in my work since 2008. The idea of dormancy and then awakening is present in 'Buddha Awakening' the obvious gold symbols of birds, lotus and others directly scribe into the ear of the awakening statue denoted by the gold leaf and more graphic use of block color.

I wanted the symbols to appear according to the light and time of day which Im pleased to say they do! I used gold paint mixed into the Guache so it glitters and has created a unique experience for the viewer, you really have to stand still, view then move around and stand still in order to capture all the imagery and symbols which emerge in the different light sources. Another experiment is the artificial light which strangely doesn't reveal all. It does create a harsh revelation if you have direct overhead lighting and in both paintings it reveals a strong band of previously hidden colour and images, however if you move you will see more or less. the yellow light is also a player in the visual game, if you have energy saving bulbs you will get a dimmer more white light on the image.

The limited editions do employ some of this technique but it is very hard to capture this sense of movement around the piece in a reproduction. this is why I have decided to add some gold leaf and gold paint to overylay the Giclées to add to the viewers experience plus it adds to the overall uniqueness of each print. You really do et something unique and one off to you!

I hope this gives you some insight into the art work and the concept behind my recent series 'Deity'. please take a look and forward this on to your friends. Ill post again soon.
